Shashi Tharoor's tweet on Manushi Chhillar irks Twitterati
What's the story
Call it a "farrago" of humor or "distortion" of freedom but Shashi Tharoor's tongue-in-cheek remark on Miss World Manushi Chhillar came as a rude-shocker to many of his followers.
Tharoor trying to be his witty best compared Manushi's surname to "loose change" while trying to take a dig at BJP for demonetization.
Following the damage his tweet did, Tharoor issued an apology on Twitter.

What a mistake to demonetise our currency! BJP should have realised that Indian cash dominates the globe: look, even our Chhillar has become Miss World!

Here's how Twitterati reacted to the comment
Little did Tharoor know that his tweet on Manushi would not only attract hate comments from Twitterati but get him in trouble with the National Commission for Women, which accused him of degrading Manushi's achievement and demanded his apology.
While he was slammed unabashedly, one of his followers asked him why he was "demonetizing his own value."

Shashi Tharoor's public apology
Guess the pun IS the lowest form of humour, & the bilingual pun lower still! Apologies to the many who seem to have been righteously offended by a light-hearted tweet today. Certainly no offence was meant to a bright young girl whose answer i've separately praised. Please: Chill!
