Virender Sehwag's brother arrested in cheque bounce case
What's the story
Vinod Sehwag, the brother of former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag, has been arrested in a two-year-old cheque bounce case, per reports.
His bail plea was heard by a local court on Thursday, however, the police opposed it citing his past disobedience of court orders and potential risk of repeating the offense if released.
He was arrested last week by the Chandigarh Police for non-appearance in a local court.

This section pertains to non-appearance in response to a proclamation under Section 82 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).

Bail
Next hearing on March 10
In his bail plea to a sessions court, Vinod refuted charges that he was involved in the case. He said he had no role in the company.
He also alleged that the cops acted hastily to apprehend him and contested the summons order before the sessions court.
He claimed that his non-appearance in court was not intentional nor malicious since he was seeking legal recourse. The court has scheduled the next hearing on the bail application for March 10.
