What's the story

Police in UP nabbed a principal and three others after students reported that cameras had been secretly installed in a girls' toilet in the Maharajganj school. Videos captured by the camera had also been posted online. According to police, the principal's brother masterminded the crime. Instead of helping, two teachers who knew about it exploited the camera themselves.

Camera

Principal's brother installed the camera five-six months ago: Police

During investigation, police found that the principal's brother had installed the camera in a girls' toilet at Everest English Medium School "five-six months back," said ASP Ashutosh Shukla. "The camera was Wi-Fi enabled and recording could be done with remote," cops added. Lately, girls saw a teacher hanging around the toilet suspiciously. Police claimed it was during the time when two teachers discovered the camera.

Information

These two teachers, instead of helping, exploited the situation further

Instead of alerting the administration, the teachers decided to post the videos on social media. "The videos were not noticed by many. The administration ousted them from the school and they again posted the videos on social media," Shukla said.

Action

Possibly done by outsiders to defame the school: Principal

After some students and parents noticed the videos online, they intimated the authorities. Police have now seized laptops and mobiles of suspects and sent them for forensic examination. Meanwhile, the principal pleaded innocence. "We have been running the school for 20 years but such a thing has never happened. It could be the handiwork of some outsiders to defame the school."

Another place, another crime

Reports of another heinous video emerged today, where three men in Unnao are seen molesting a pleading and screaming woman, while another records the crime. Ignoring her cries of "Bhaiyya, mat karo" (Brother, don't do this), one threatens: "We'll make this video viral."
