Salesman shot dead for charging Rs. 10 extra, case registered
In a horrifying incident, three customers shot dead a 25-year-old salesman, Kuldeep Nagar, at a liquor shop in Greater Noida on Wednesday night for charging Rs. 10 more. Kuldeep's family has filed a complaint at Kasna Police Station. Although no one has been arrested yet, police registered the complaint under Indian Penal Code Sections 302 (murder) and 307 (attempt to murder). Here's more.
Two accused identified; old case of enmity, say police
The Kasna police have identified two accused persons, Surendra (resident of Noida Sector 36) and Raju Gurjar (resident of Ghaziabad). The third one is yet to be identified. Vineet Jaiswal, Superintendent of Police (Rural), said, "Prima facie, it seems that two men fired bullets at the victim after being charged Rs. 10 extra. A case of an old enmity has also been reported."
Accused assaulted Kuldeep earlier as he refused to sell alcohol
In his complaint, Kuldeep's uncle, Vikas Nagar, said, "The accused had assaulted my nephew on March 19 when he refused to sell them alcohol, as it was past 10 pm and the shop was closed. They returned, picked up a fight, and fired at him."
Accused pulled a gun amid argument to fire at Kuldeep
Kuldeep Nagar hails from Gulaothi village in Bulandshahr and was working at a liquor shop in Aechar village of Greater Noida. Three accused entered the shop at around 9:30pm to buy alcohol. They had an argument with Kuldeep over charging Rs. 10 extra. Amid heated argument, one of them pulled out a gun and fired three shots at Kuldeep, who collapsed on the spot.
Examining CCTV footage, accused will be arrested soon: Police
After shooting at Kuldeep, the three accused fled on a bike while firing in the air. Kuldeep was declared dead on arrival when he was rushed to the nearby Ivory Hospital. Two bullets had hit his chest and abdomen. "We are trying to identify the accused with the help of CCTV footage...from the shop. They will be arrested soon," said SHO (Kasna) Ajay Kumar.
