Russia to sell MiG-35 fighter jets to IAF, say sources
If reports are believed to be true, then Russia is keen on selling its new fighter jet MiG-35 to India. MiG Corporation's chief said talks were on to understand the country's requirements. Director General of Russian Aircraft Corporation MiG Ilya Tarasenko said they were proposing supply of the aircraft for tenders in India and they are actively working in this regard.

Speaking on sidelines of MAKS 2017 air show, Director General of Russian Aircraft Corporation MiG Ilya Tarasenko said India had expressed interest in the MiG-35. He said that MiG aircraft was being used by India for almost 50 years and it intends to continue supplying India with its most modern aircraft. Tarasenko said that negotiations were on and price will be economical.
Know a little about MiG-35
MiG-35 is better than Lockheed Martin's fifth-generation combat aircraft F-35. The MiG-35 is Russia's most advanced 4++ generation multipurpose fighter jet which was developed on the basis of the serial-produced MiG-29K/KUB and MiG-29M/M2 combat aircraft.
New quality of weapons, new frame keep MiG-35 class apart
Lead test pilot Mikhail Belyaev gave an insight into the advanced version of MiG-29 and stated the main features of this aircraft. New onboard equipment and the new quality of weapons, including air-to-air, air-to-ground and air-to-sea have been introduced. The combat tasks that can be achieved are more complex. Also, improved flight and technical characteristics, advanced onboard radio-electronic equipment are other additions.
Russia supportive of India's MiG-35 purchase
Director of Russia's Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation Dmitry Shugayev also voiced similar sentiments as that of MiG's chief. He said that Russia is ready to take part in India's tender for the supply of light fighter jets along with its MiG-35 planes. Although technical requirements are yet to be confirmed, Russia is ready to participate in future aviation tenders in India.
