Murshidabad: RSS worker, pregnant wife, and son killed at house
In West Bengal's Murshidabad, a triple murder has sent shock waves across the residents. Once you know how the crime was committed, you will understand why locals are living under fear. The victims of the brutal killing are a teacher, who was associated with RSS, his pregnant wife, and their six-year-old son. They were murdered inside their house. Here are the shocking details.
Murderers didn't even spare a young boy
The crime happened in the Jiaganj area of Murshidabad on Tuesday morning but caught attention only yesterday. 35-year-old Bandhu Prakash Pal, his wife Beauty and son Angan were found dead in the house. While bodies of Prakash and Angan were found in one room, Beauty, who was reportedly eight months pregnant, was found lying in a pool of blood in another room of the single-storied house.
After Prakash returned from market, his family was killed
Prakash worked at Gosaigram Sahapara Primary School and also doubled up as an insurance agent. He was last seen at 11 am on Tuesday when he was returning from a local market. Within an hour, the entire family was killed, said an officer involved with the probe. A neighbor said they alerted police after hearing cries from his house.
Prakash's relative recalled his last phone call
Further, the neighbor told Mumbai Mirror, that they saw some people leaving Prakash's house. Meanwhile, his uncle Rajesh Ghosh told HT that one of the family members spoke to Prakash at 11:15 am. "After speaking for a few seconds, he disconnected. We think the killers were present inside the room when Prakash was talking on the phone," he told the daily.
A case has been registered, but cause still unknown
Reports have it that the Pal couple was stabbed with a sharp-edged weapon and Angan, strangulated to death. Police have recovered the object used for murder from the spot. Though a murder case has been registered, police spent a large part of Wednesday searching for clues. Cops said items were displaced in the house, hinting that the murderers and family members had a scuffle.
Cops are talking to family members of deceased
"We have started a murder case but are yet to get a clue about the motive of the murder. We are talking with the family members of the deceased and some other persons to extract details," said Lalbagh's sub-divisional officer, Barun Baidya.
Subsequently, people on Twitter asked government to act
The heinous crime was condemned by social media users. Twitter user @vikrantkumar wrote there is massive anger among people. "SM has ensured spread of these incident's info even though mainstream media has either censored or cooked version, (sic)" he tweeted. Meanwhile, BJP leader Raja Singh urged Home Minister Amit Shah to order a "high-level" investigation. He even claimed national media was not reporting facts.
