Amitabh shares heartfelt tweet mourning Vajpayee's death
Their relationship goes a long way
Amitabh praised Vajpayeeji's gentle nature and fiery speeches. Notably, Big B's father Harivansh Rai Bachchan knew Vajpayee ji from his early days. Both men mutually respected each other's poetic sensibilities. Harivansh was particularly impressed by Vajpayeeji's oratory skills even when the latter was just a young boy. Vajpayee also checked up on Harivansh even after he became a political leader.
A man with a golden touch
Vajpayee didn't just have a respectful relationship with Harivansh, but an admirable relationship with Amitabh too. He honored the occasion when a stamp was inaugurated in Harivansh's name in Lucknow. Amitabh and Vajpayee would also exchange birthday wishes. Amitabh described the great man's oratory powers and concluded by saying, he was a poet, politician, writer, PM and 'an extremely rare human'.
Not just Big B, everyone loved Vajpayee
Megastar Amitabh's tweet was heart-wrenching, but Shah Rukh too shared an extremely emotional message. He recalled discussing poetry, politics, and films with an ailing Vajpayee. SRK lovingly remembered him as 'Baapji'. He expressed grief as the nation lost a great father-figure and by his own admission, he lost a part of his childhood.
