PM Modi says Prophet Muhammad's teachings can take world forward
On his first visit to Srinagar after the Centre announced ceasefire during the holy month of Ramzan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday urged youth of the valley to remember teachings of Prophet Muhammad, the founder of Islam. PM Modi dedicates power project, Srinagar ring road to nation
The PM dedicated the 330-MW Kishanganga Power Project constructed in the Gurez area of Kashmir, to the nation. He also laid the foundation for the Srinagar Ring Road at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) Srinagar. The four-lane Srinagar Ring Road, aimed at reducing traffic congestion, stretches over 42.1 km and will connect Galandar in West Srinagar to Sumbal in Badnipora district.
Weapon raised by youth destabilizes Jammu and Kashmir: Modi
Further, Narendra Modi asked the youth of the state to give up arms and said it destabilizes not only Jammu and Kashmir but the entire nation. He added the Centre and State governments are working towards development. "I would urge everyone to channelize their energies in the development of the state. The solution to every problem is only development, development, development," he said.
PM Modi talks of improving tourism in the state
Modi said it is pertinent to revamp tourism in J&K- one of the most important factors of state's development. "The tourists now want facilities. They don't want to be stuck in narrow lanes for hours. They want continuous power supply, they want hygiene," he said. Saying the ecosystem of tourism in the state will get better, PM Modi added it will provide employment too.
