Registrations begin for CAT 2017, to close on Sept 20
Registrations have begun for CAT 2017, to be held on November 26. The deadline to register is September 20. Candidates will be permitted to download their admit cards only after October 18. For general candidates, the minimum required mark is 50% in graduation. For reserved categories, the cut-off is 45%.
Who is CAT for?
The Common Admission Test, or CAT, is an entrance test conducted by the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management that allocates chosen candidates to MBA courses across different institutes in the country. Last year, registrations shot up to a seven-year high, with 2,32,434 applications.
How to apply for the exam?
The candidates need to visit the website www.iimcat.ac.in and click on Apply Online. They, then, need to fill out the necessary details. At the end, a unique registration number and password will be generated, which have to be used to log in. Aspirants should note that registration fee is to be paid only once even if one is applying for more than one institute.
IIMs to release tutorials for aspirants
Candidates taking up the exam for the first time could go through the registration guide and video which are now available on the official site. The IIMs will also release a tutorial for students explaining the format of the test on October 18.
