Jet Airways flight spins out at Goa airport
A Jet Airways flight heading for Mumbai with 154 people on board spun off the runway while attempting to take off from Goa's Dabolim airport. All passengers were safe and 15 suffered minor injuries in the process of evacuation; officials said some may have suffered fractures. The DGCA and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau have initiated investigations into the incident.
Statement from Jet Airways
In a statement, Jet Airways said, "All guests and crew have been safely evacuated. A few guests have sustained injuries during the evacuation process."
IndiGo, SpiceJet in near-miss at IGI airport
In the second close shave for Indian aviation, an IndiGo and SpiceJet aircraft avoided a collision along the runway at Delhi's IGI airport; the matter has been referred to the DGCA for investigation. The IndiGo flight was moving toward the taxiway after landing when it came in front of a SpiceJet flight which was scheduled for take-off. More details are to be released.
