SAD to hold meet over deleted chapters on Sikh Gurus
Shiromani Akali Dal decided to hold a meeting of its core committee on Thursday to formulate an action plan to "force" the Congress government in Punjab to re-insert 23 "deleted" chapters related to the era of Sikh Gurus in Class-12 History books of the Punjab School Education Board. SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal accused Congress government of belittling the Sikh Gurus' rich history.
Will come out with action plan for chapters' re-induction: Badal
Former Education Minister Daljit Singh Cheema briefed SAD on how 23 chapters were allegedly replaced with a half page description about Sikh history. Badal said it was of prime importance to re-induct all the deleted chapters in the Class 12 history book. "We will come out with an action plan to ensure the contributions made by our great Gurus are not ignored," he said.
