Rat feces found in food racks at Hyderabad restaurant
What's the story
The Telangana Food Safety Department has uncovered multiple food safety violations at a multi-cuisine restaurant in Shamshabad.
During an inspection on Friday, the team discovered rat feces on the racks and floor of "Yes Bawarchi Multi Cuisine Restaurant."
They also discovered that the restaurant did not keep the FSSAI certificate on display, and the total dissolved solids (TDS) of the drinking water provided was 24, which was lower than the mandated minimum of 75.

Regulatory breaches
Additional violations identified in Hyderabad restaurants
The task force also found synthetic food colors in the storeroom, which they discarded.
Moreover, the windows were not covered with insect-proof screens, and Food Business Operator (FBO) did not have pest management documents for the facilities or medical certificates for the food handlers.
The officials also noticed cracking plaster on the ceiling, and the kitchen flooring was disorganized and patchy.
Safety violations
Expired food items seized from Hotel Hyderabad Grand
In another restaurant, Hotel Hyderabad Grand, officials found expired food items, including red chili sauce, sweet chili sauce, coconut milk, rose water, fish masala, and thyme.
These items were seized and discarded by the authorities.
Labeling violations were also identified on dust tea and BBQ sauce at this restaurant.
Live cockroach infestation was also found in the storeroom of a North Indian restaurant, Exotica, in Hi-Tech City.
