MP: Raped minor carries foetus in bag to register complaint
In a shocking and inhumane incident, a 16-year-old Dalit minor took her foetus in a bag to register police complaint, in Satna, Madhya Pradesh. The class 10 student alleged that she was raped at knife-point seven months ago. She learned of her pregnancy after acute stomach pain. Earlier, her complaints to the police went unheard, and on Wednesday the accused aborted her foetus forcefully.
Trip to hospital stopped by rapists, leads to more horror
The victim's trip to the hospital with her mother was hindered by the accused and his friends. They were de-boarded from an auto, taken to a doctor's house, where the foetus was aborted forcefully. The victim said she was handed over the foetus in a bag and asked to dump it by the doctor. She was threatened with dire consequences if she spoke.

The victim, who was given Rs. 20 by accused, took the foetus with her to the SP's office. Satna SP Rajesh Hingarkar said, "I was not in office when the survivor came. But a case is being registered against the accused."
Rape against children saw huge spike in 2016: Report
According to National Crime Records Bureau, incidents of rapes against children increased by 82% from 2015 to 2016. In 2016, the states which recorded the highest number of crimes against children were Madhya Pradesh (2,467), Maharashtra (2,292), Uttar Pradesh (2,115), Odisha (1258) and Tamil Nadu (1,169).
