Ayodhya's Ram Temple completion delayed by 3 months
The completion of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, which was initially set for June 2025, has now been pushed to September 2025. Nripendra Mishra, chairman of the construction committee, announced the delay on Friday. He said the delay was due to a shortage of around 200 workers and the replacement of some stones on the temple's first floor. "Currently, we are facing a labor shortage, causing delays in construction," Mishra said.
Stone replacement and boundary construction issues
He said that despite 8.5 lakh cubic feet of red 'Bansi Paharpur' stones reaching Ayodhya, the temple's boundary construction has slowed down due to the reduced workforce. Some stones on the first floor were also found to be "weak and thin" and will be replaced with 'Makrana' stones for durability. A recent two-day meeting reviewed other structures like the auditorium, boundary, and circumambulation path which are still under construction.
Statues for Ram temple in production, expected by December
Regarding the statues for the temple, Mishra said that they are being made in Jaipur. They will be delivered to Ayodhya by December. "The sculptor has assured us that all statues will be completed by year-end," Mishra confirmed. Two statues of Ram Lalla have also been accepted by the temple trust for prominent installation within the temple complex.
Efforts underway to improve visitor flow at Ram temple
The construction committee is also working on improving visitor flow, especially with a smoother exit route after visiting the Janmabhoomi path. Mishra acknowledged crowding issues and emphasized that enhancing accessibility for visitors is part of their planning process. "We are aware of the crowding issues and are working on solutions to ensure a smooth visit for all devotees," he added.
