Rajasthan Police's own version of 'KBC': Raising awareness about law
Drawing inspiration from TV quiz show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' (KBC) hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, Rajasthan Police has launched its own version of 'KBC' on social media to raise awareness about law and crimes. In the first-of-its-kind exercise, the police started 'Kitna Bada Crime' quiz, wherein they have been posting one question every day since September 24 on crimes and IPC Sections dealing with them.
What is the purpose of introducing 'KBC'?
The purpose is to use social media to educate and inform people about laws related to crime in an entertaining manner, Rajasthan DGP OP Galhotra said. "It's a novel initiative taken by Rajasthan Police. None of the other states has done something similar," he added.
What was the first question posted on 'KBC'?
The first question posted on Twitter by the Rajasthan Police's handle @PoliceRajasthan was: "Under which IPC section, demanding sexual favors despite indication of disinterest is a crime?" The question put on September 24 had four options, much like the Kaun Banega Crorepati. The State Police also tags Amitabh Bachchan in some of their tweets. The first question elicited 84 responses.

While many answered, some lauded the 'KBC' initiative
While many respondents limited themselves to answering, some lauded the 'KBC' initiative. Among other topics, the Rajasthan Police has asked questions on moving property dishonestly out of possession of any person without consent, stalking, begging and hawking in or around any tourist area, etc.
Currently, there's no prize money for those giving correct answers
"Anyone following the Rajasthan Police on Facebook and Twitter can answer simple questions. It's an attempt by police to educate, inform, and sensitize people about crime and laws," said ADG (CB and CID) Pankaj Kumar Singh, who has taken the initiative. He said that though there's no prize money for those giving the correct answer, a proposal can be floated considering people's response.
