Rajasthan: Men tried raping disabled woman, killed daughter for crying
A disturbing incident has been reported from Rajasthan's Bharatpur area, and it is enough to hang humanity's head in shame. As per reports, four men allegedly tried to rape a disabled woman. Her screams alerted her eight-year-old daughter, and when she started crying, the accused allegedly choked the little one to death. The victim has registered a complaint. Here's what happened.
Men barged into the victim's house, tried assaulting her
The incident took place on May 12 but got attention only recently when the victim, who works at a brick factory, spoke up. On the tragic day, the owner of the factory named Babulal, along with three of his friends, barged into her house and tried to rape her. The other accused were identified as Than Singh and Lakshman Singh. One former constable was also involved in the crime.
The accused murdered the child, threatened her mother
Hearing the screams of her mother, the eight-year-old start crying. The men then murdered the child. After killing her, the accused cremated the kid. Not only this, they told the villagers that the child died due to some disease. The accused also threatened the victim and told her to remain quiet. They said they would burn her alive if she spoke up.
Last month, another horrific rape was reported from Rajasthan
Just last month, Rajasthan was jolted by the Alwar gang-rape case. In April, a woman was gang-raped by five men, in front of her husband, sparking widespread protests in the state. The accused thrashed the victim's husband, shot a video of the incident, and left the duo in a pit. Meanwhile, the police allegedly showed laxity in filing complaint, due to general elections.
The victim has been appointed as constable in state police
As the case put Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's government on backfoot, police took concrete steps. All the accused were arrested. Notably, the victim was on Tuesday appointed as a constable in Rajasthan police, after the cabinet approved her hiring.
