NEET results declared: Rajasthan boy tops exam, scores 701/720
The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the results of NEET 2019 a short while ago. Nalin Khandelwal, a boy from Rajasthan, topped the exam which allows students to take admission in government medical colleges. Khandelwal scored 701 out of 720 marks. The second position was held by Bhavik Bansal, who belongs to Delhi. Uttar Pradesh's Akshat Kaushik came third. Here are more details.
A step-by-step guide on how to check score
Students who wish to check their results can visit the website- ntaneet.nic.in. You are then supposed to click on the 'Download result' link. You will be asked to enter your registration number and roll number. Once you submit these mandatory details, your result will flash on the screen. You can take a print out of the result for future reference.
56.5% of students who appeared for exam cleared it
This time, 15,19,375 students registered for the exam. Out of them, 14,10,755 appeared for the exam, which was held on May 5 and May 20. 56.5% of students qualified. The pass percentage saw a minimal growth as compared to last year when 56.2% students cleared the examination. 57.11% of girls who appeared for the exam passed. The pass percentage among boys is 55.7%.
The cut-off for general category is 134
The cut-off for general category students is 134 marks. Last time, the cut-off was 119 for this category. Cut-offs for SC/ST and OBC categories also swelled from 96 to 107 this time.
Telangana girl scored maximum marks among girls
Among girls, the one who topped is Madhuri Reddy G. She belongs to Telangana and her AIR is 7. She scored 695 out of 720 marks. Madhya Pradesh's Kriti Agrawal is the second topper among girls. She took the 15th spot all over India. There are 20 girls in the top 100 merit list. Notably, 9 students from Delhi made it to top 50.
