Rajasthan: Police officer suspended after accusing SHO of corruption
An Assistant Sub-Inspector in Rajasthan's Nagaur district has been suspended after he accused the SHO of Kuchera police station of pressuring the station staff for extorting money from people. ASI Mehram leveled corruption charges against SHO Mahaveer Prasad Meena, a Sub Inspector, through WhatsApp following which he was suspended yesterday on charges of indiscipline and unwarranted action, a senior police official said. Here's more.
The ASI has history of misconduct: IG Ajmer Agrawal
ASI Mehram has a history of misconduct and negligence on duty, Inspector General of Ajmer, Malini Agrawal. He was suspended for indiscipline yesterday and a separate probe was ordered into the allegations leveled by him, the IG added.
SHO Meena claims charges against him are baseless
The station house officer (SHO) Meena has rejected the charges as "baseless." However, ASI Mehram said, "The SHO keep(s) pressurizing the police station staff for extorting money from (the) public." He added, "ASI Bansilal had died some time back because the SHO used to threaten him; but instead of taking any action on the corrupt SHO, I was suspended."
