#RafaleDeal: Rahul fires fresh salvo, says Modi 'betrayed India's soul'
What's the story
In a fresh attack on the Rafale issue, Congress President Rahul Gandhi alleged PM Modi and Anil Ambani jointly carried out a "surgical strike" on the defense forces.
Former French President Francois Hollande reportedly said yesterday that the Indian Government proposed Ambani's Reliance Defense as the partner for Dassault Aviation in the Rs. 58,000cr Rafale jet fighter deal and France didn't have a choice.

Opposition attacks Modi government for choosing Reliance over HAL
PM Modi had announced the procurement of a batch of 36 Rafale jets after holding talks with the then French President Hollande on April 10, 2015, in Paris.
The Opposition party, Congress, has been accusing the government of choosing Reliance Defense over state-run Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) to benefit the private firm, though it did not have any experience in the aerospace sector.
