Radhe Maa photos-a subject for memes, trolls
The pictures of Param Shradhey Shri Radhe Maa or popularly known as Radhe Maa, the self-styled godwoman in a red miniskirt have gone viral on social media sites. Her YouTube account too has videos of her in bedazzling bridal wear, gaudy make-up which has been turning heads. The pictures have led to a series of memes and trolls mocking the godwoman.
Who is Radhe Maa?
Radhe Maa, a Hindu spiritual teacher and preacher based in Borivali-West, Mumbai was born Sukhwinder Kaur on 4 April 1965. It is alleged that Guru Ramadheen Dasji from Hoshiarpur gave her 'deekhsa' and the title of Radhe Maa in 1987. Radhe Maa got primary recognition when she moved to Mumbai when the famous M.M. Mithaiwala family of Mumbai started following her.
Complaint lodged against Maa for dowry instigation
Radhe Maa was booked under the Dowry Prohibition Act after a Nikki Gupta from Kandivili blamed her of influencing her husband and in-laws to harass her mentally and physically for dowry. A criminal offence was booked against 7 people, including the complainant's husband, as directed by a magistrate court. The godwoman refuted any such incident calling it riddled with inaccuracies and rumours.
Radhe Maa banished from Nashik Kumbh Mela
Radhe Maa and another self proclaimed godman 'Builder Baba' Sachidanand have been banned from visiting Nashik during the Kumbh Mela. Radhe Maa has been banned due to the dowry charges levied against her; another follower accused her of performing vulgar dance steps on Bollywood songs during satsangs. Citing such complaints, President of the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, Narendra Giri banned her from Kumbh Mela.
Radhe Maa controversy butt of jokes on Twitter
Vishal Dadlani the music composer, singer tweeted, "A clip of that Radhe-maa lady traipsing about, is the creepiest thing I've seen on the Internet. These god-people are a real waste of space!" Funny tweets went viral with one person writing: "From Radhe Maa to Radha on the Dance Floor!". Another tweeted: ""Why should Babas have all the fun?" - Radhe Maa".
'Guess Who?' Rahul Mahajan behind the expose
The man responsible for leaking Radhe Maa's pictures online is Rahul Mahajan, the son of former BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, who tweeted the photos with a caption, "Guess Who?"
