Students body blames PUBG for poor results, wants it banned
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) has taken the youngsters by storm and kept them hooked to their cell phones. As a result of this, the game has landed into controversies, quite often. The latest one to join the long list is this: the J&K Students Association has asked the state Governor to ban the game due to the poor 10th and 12th board exam results.
Parents concerned over the poor performance of kids in exams
Notably, the Chairman of the Association, Abrar Ahmad Bhat, has termed the online multiplayer game as "future spoiler". Even parents are concerned after seeing the poor exam results of their children. Addressing their concerns, the student body has appealed to Governor Satya Pal Malik to ban the game in the state. They also compared the addictive nature of the game to drugs.
'Addiction to the game is more concerning than drugs'
Deputy Chairman of the Association, Raqif Makhdoomi, told media, "The game should have been banned immediately after the poor performance of 12th and 10th class results but still we haven't seen any action." "The addiction to this game has become more concerning than addiction to drugs as we get to see youngsters 24 hours on the phones and playing the game," he added.
Separately, fitness trainer lost mental balance after playing PUBG
Worryingly, this isn't the first time PUBG became a matter of concern in J&K. Previously, a fitness trainer became so addictive to the game that he started hitting himself after completing a match. The case became severe, and he had to be hospitalized. Doctors said he was unstable at the moment and had lost his mental balance. Really, what's happening in the world?
To recall, PUBG in banned at VIT hostel
Further, just last month, the chief warden of Vellore Institute of Technology had also banned the game in their hostel due to its addictive nature. The students were reportedly missing classes and had become "aggressive" in nature.
