Car Racer Ashwin, wife pass away in a car accident
Professional car racer Ashwin Sundar and his wife passed away in a car accident late last night. Sources said the couple was trapped inside their BMW car as the doors could not open, and were burned to death. The accident took place on Santhome High Road in Chennai. Fire and rescue workers struggled for over 30 minutes to put out the blaze.

Ashwin Sundar was a professional race car driver from Tamil Nadu. His wife Niveditha was a doctor. Ashwin has several international and national championships to his name.
How did it happen?
Sundar and his wife lived in Alapakkam near Porur. Investigations revealed that they had gone to visit a friend at MRC Nagar in Raja Annamalaipuram. On the way back, the car rammed into a tree on the roadside, and ended up getting wedged between the wall and the tree, preventing their escape. Police identified the victims through the car's registration plates.
