On Monday, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was campaigning in Fatehpur Sikri, Uttar Pradesh and could not hold herself back from sharing her excitement of being flown there by a lady pilot. She shared a post on her Twitter handle with a picture of her with the pilot. Gandhi, who faced a lot of sexist comments herself, is campaigning for women issues this election.

In her tweet, Priyanka wrote, "So proud to be flown by a lady today, that too in a chopper!" In January this year, Priyanka joined active politics after her brother and Congress president Rahul Gandhi made her in-charge for the party in UP East. While Congress has high hopes from its 'trump card', several BJP leaders targeted Priyanka with sexism after her political plunge.

Earlier this month, a BJP leader Jayakaran Gupta referred to Priyanka as skirt waali bai (skirt-wearing woman). While addressing a rally in Meerut, UP, Gupta said, "One Congress leader loudly asks if ache din have come. He can't see the ache din. Skirt waali bai has started wearing sari and visiting temples, those who hate Ganga jal are now visiting the Ganga."
Meanwhile, Vijayavargiya spoke about Priyanka's 'chocolaty face'
Kailash Vijayavargiya, BJP's National General Secretary, also made the headlines for his sexist comments against Priyanka. He said Congress gave Priyanka a top post, owing to her 'chocolaty face'. He claimed Congress suffered from lack of leadership.
Congress is trying to woo women voters this time
Meanwhile, Congress along with Priyanka is trying to woo women voters this time. The party has promised to pass the 33% reservation for women bill in the Parliament and also promised reservation for women in jobs and education. Adding to that, the party in their campaign rallies have also accused the ruling BJP government of neglecting women and their issues.

In March 2019, the 47-year-old Congress' general secretary while on a boat ride from Prayagraj, shared pictures of girls who accompanied her. Earlier, Priyanka highlighted that Congress' NYAY scheme, on whose foundation the party is fighting polls, is women-centric. Congress has promised to give Rs. 72,000/year to poorest five crore households. To empower women, Congress has decided to credit this amount into women's accounts.
