Popular RJ Rasikan Rajesh hacked to death in Kerala
A popular Kerala radio jockey (RJ) was hacked to death at his Thiruvananthapuram studio yesterday night. Rajesh alias Rasikan Rajesh, a folk-singer cum mimicry artist, had just arrived at the Metro Studio at Madavoor after a program when the crime took place. Both he and his friend Kuttan were attacked. Rajesh succumbed to his injuries at a hospital, while Kuttan is still undergoing treatment.
Rajesh's friend was attacked when he tried to save him
According to police, Rajesh and Kuttan were unloading their equipment at the studio after a stage program last night. Around 2am, unidentified miscreants arrived in a red Swift car and attacked him with sharp weapons. When Kuttan tried to save him, they assaulted him too. Local residents alerted police after hearing the commotion and rushed the two to hospital, but Rajesh didn't survive.
Rajesh had returned from abroad just two months ago
Rajesh worked with Red FM for several years before he joined a radio channel in Doha (Qatar) called Voice of Kerala. A couple of months ago, he quit the channel and returned to India to start his own studio. He had then opened the Metro Studio. Rajesh is survived by his wife and his son.
