Poor visibility hits flight operations at Goa Airport
Poor visibility due to fog severely affected flight operations at Goa's Dabolim Airport on Friday morning, as a result of which two international and three domestic flights were diverted to various cities. Visibility was extremely low from 6 am onwards at the Goa airport, said the Airports Authority of India (AAI). Here's more.
Flights began landing from 8.30 am, after visibility improved
One of the international flights was a chartered aircraft from Russia and was diverted to Bengaluru, while the other flight from Manchester was asked to land at Mumbai. IndiGo and SpiceJet flights were diverted to Bengaluru, while a GoAir aircraft from Mumbai was asked to return to the metropolis, said an official. Flights began landing from 8.30 am onwards, when the visibility improved.
