J&K: Police Officer shot dead outside his home by terrorists
Jammu and Kashmir Special Police Officer (SPO) Haleem Gujjar has been shot dead by terrorists in Pulwama district's Tral region. The 38-year-old SPO was fired upon by the terrorists at his residence in Tral's Gutroo village. A police official said Gujjar died on the spot. The assailants soon fled the scene. The forces have launched a search operation to nab them.
Second such incident in 6 months
SPO Haleem Gujjar is the second officer to be shot dead by terrorists in less than six months in Jammu and Kashmir. On 15 June, policeman Shabir Ahmad Dar, an Officer with the Special Operations Group (SOG), had succumbed to his multiple bullet injuries. Terrorists had opened fire at him outside his residence in Bogund of south Kashmir's Kulgam district.
