PM Modi urges collectors to move beyond files, visit fields

Speaking of Mission 'New India by 2022', Modi asked collectors to spread awareness about the benefit of government initiatives. Collectors should prepare a resolution document for their districts before August 15, which must contain 10-15 objectives to be achieved by 2022, he said. He also informed the collectors about the website www.newindia.in, which contained information about the Sankalp Se Siddhi movement.
GST: A good and simple tax
One aspect of focus should be the GST, Modi said. Collectors should explain it as a Good and Simple Tax to people. Many still struggle to understand the intricacies of the newly-introduced Goods and Services Tax (GST), which aims to have a unified common marketplace.
