Modi to inaugurate India's longest bridge in Assam
PM Modi will inaugurate India's longest bridge in Assam, on 24th May. The Dhola-Sadiya bridge will traverse across the Brahmaputra River. It is 9.15 km long and will serve as a means to better connect Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. The bridge will also help security forces' movements in the region. The announcement was made by the Assam government.
Bridge beats Bandra-Worli Sea-link's record
Sources said that the bridge is 3.55 kilometers longer than the Bandra-Worli sea link in Mumbai. At 5.6 kms, the Bandra-Worli sea link was the longest bridge in India, until the Dhola-Sadiya bridge was finished.
