Delhi: Modi, Afghan President hold talks to boost bilateral cooperation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held wide-ranging talks with Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani on ways to further boost bilateral cooperation.
Ghani arrived in Delhi in the morning on a day-long visit.
It's understood that Ghani briefed Modi about the status of peace process in the war-ravaged country.
India has always been favoring an Afghan-owned peace process to bring peace and stability in Afghanistan.

Indo-Afghan ties
India committed $2 billion for socio-economic development of Afghanistan
India has also been actively involved in reconstruction efforts in war-ravaged Afghanistan. Since 2002, India has committed $2 billion for the socio-economic development of the country.
Last week, Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale traveled to Kabul to chair the meeting of the Joint Working Group on Political and Security Cooperation between India and Afghanistan.
He had also attended trilateral talks involving Iran.
