#Elections2019: Voter ID powerful than terrorists' IEDs, says PM Modi
After casting his vote in Gujarat's Ahmedabad, PM Narendra Modi today said that that the Voter ID is more powerful than terrorists' IEDs. He also held a mini-roadshow as he walked along with BJP National President and Gandhinagar candidate, Amit Shah. The Prime Minister cast his vote in the polling booth in Nishan Higher Secondary School in Ranip under the Ahmedabad constituency. Here's more.

Feel pure after casting vote in festival of democracy: Modi
"Today, the third phase of polling is underway. I am fortunate that I got the opportunity to fulfill my duty in my home state of Gujarat," PM Narendra Modi told the reporters after casting his vote. "Like one feels pure after a holy dip during the Kumbh, I feel pure after casting vote in this festival of democracy," he added.
Should understand the strength of our voter IDs: PM Modi
"The weapon of terrorism is IED, the strength of democracy is voter's ID. I can say with surety that the voter's ID is much much more powerful than an IED, so we should understand the strength of our voter IDs," PM Modi said.
PM Modi was received by Amit Shah
PM Modi was one of the first high-profile voters to cast their votes in Gujarat. He arrived at the polling booth in Ranip in an open jeep and then greeted the people gathered there. He was received by Amit Shah who has been fielded in Gandhinagar against the Congress's three-time MP CJ Chavda. Before voting, PM Modi also spent some time with Shah's family.
PM Modi also visited his 99-year-old mother before casting vote
Before casting his vote in Ranip, PM Modi also visited his mother, 99-year-old Heeraben Patel, in Gandhinagar to seek her blessings. After spending 15 minutes with his mother, he also went to his brother Pankaj Modi's house and spent a brief time there too.
