Worse than turbulence? Air India passenger strips naked mid-flight
Around 150 passengers who were travelling from Dubai to Lucknow on board an Air India Express flight were in for an unpleasant surprise on Saturday. Giving new meaning to the phrase 'walking down the aisle', a male passenger, mid-way into the flight, stripped his clothes off and started walking down the aisle naked, leaving the rest of the passengers in shock. What we know about the incident
The incident took place on board Air India Express flight IX-194 which was scheduled to reach Lucknow from Dubai at 12.05pm on Saturday. As soon as the man stripped naked, the flight crew swung into action. They first wrapped him in a blanket, and reportedly, two of them held the man and kept him seated for the remaining duration of the flight.
The passenger was handed over to Lucknow airport security
When the flight finally landed at Lucknow airport, the man was promptly turned over to airport security for further action. However, as of now, it is not known why the passenger decided to pull the stunt, or if anything had provoked him into doing such a thing on an international flight. Currently, an investigation into the incident is underway.
What Air India had to say about it
"As per the direction of the captain of the flight, the passenger was handed over to airlines security at Lucknow Airport where investigation is underway," and Air India spokesperson told news agency ANI.
