6-year-old, army personnel killed in ceasefire violation by Pakistan

What's the story

A six-year-old girl Sajida Kafeel and an army personnel were killed while a civilian was injured in the ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the LoC on Monday. The Pakistani Army engaged in heavy shelling of the Indian posts and villages in J&K's Rajouri and Poonch sectors. Indian security forces too retaliated strongly to the unprovoked firing and said that Pakistan initiated ceasefire violation.

Indian Army alleges Pakistan started ceasefire violations

Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) level talks were held between India and Pakistan with regard to ceasefire violations allegedly being committed by troops of both countries along the LoC in J&K. India alleged Pakistan of starting the indiscriminate firing and stated that the Indian Army reserved the right to retaliate appropriately. Indian Army also said it was sincere about maintaining peace along LoC.

Context

Pakistani Army targeted Bhimber Gali sector

As per defence spokesman Lt Col Manish Mehta, the Pakistani Army started heavy shelling around 7:30am today, targeting the Bhimber Gali sector. The Indian Army too retaliated strongly to the ceasefire violation. The Bhimber Gali sector which runs along the Rajouri and Poonch districts saw the administration closing all the schools near the border.

5 Pak soldiers got killed by Indian Army

At least five Pakistani soldiers were killed when their vehicle fell into a river in the Neelum Valley. Pakistan Army claimed the Indian forces responsible for the incident saying the latter targeted them. The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani army, posted this on its website.
