RRB Group-D exam in Odisha postponed due to Adivasi agitation
Due to the Adivasi agitation in Odisha, many examinees for the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Group D post failed to reach their exam centers. Taking this into consideration, the RRB has postponed the exam scheduled on Tuesday, September 25 in the state. "New dates will be released after October 16," said CPO Northern Railway, Angaraj Mohan, as per The Indian Express. Here's more.
The agitation hit the railways too
The Adivasi agitation has not just affected the students but also hit the railway services in Kharagpur division of South Eastern Zone, where several trains were canceled. Further, several express and local trains were stuck at various stations. According to The Indian Express report, the cancellation of trains caused a huge trouble to Group D candidates, who had their examinations in Bhubaneshwar.
'Where's the RPF now?' asks WB Minister Partha Chatterjee
Exam candidates also staged a protest over the cancellation of trains at Howrah station, following which West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee shifted the blame onto the South Eastern Railway for the trouble. He asked, "Where is the RPF now? What were they doing when the blockade was put up? There is something fishy." RRB also postponed the examinations in Bhopal scheduled for today.
