Odisha: Maoists kill man suspecting him to be a police-informer
A group of around 20 Maoists gunned down a tribal man, Ganga Madkami (30), in Kalimela area of Malkangiri district in Odisha suspecting him to be a police informer. They stormed into his house at Sudhakunda village and dragged him out late last night, Superintendent of Police Jagmohan Meena said. However, Meena cleared that Madkami wasn't working as a police informer.
On June 11, Maoists also shot at village head
Meena said the body of the slain villager was recovered and investigation was in progress. Reportedly, combing operation and patrolling in the area has been intensified in the aftermath of the killing. The incident comes barely ten days after a village head, also a tribal, was seriously injured in the district when suspected Maoists shot at him on June 11.
