Occultist murder case: Rival held for murder conspiracy in Ghaziabad
An occultist has been arrested for his alleged involvement in the murder of his rival in Ghaziabad last month, police said on Wednesday. Mustaqeem, a resident of Muradnagar, was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the death of Aas Mohammad. Earlier, the Murad Nagar Police had arrested a man named Salman of Husseinpur for killing the occultist.
Salman's wife visited Mohammad to get rid of evil spirits
According to the police, the incident took place near the Firdous mosque of the New Noorganj area of Ghaziabad. Salman had told police that his wife frequently visited Mohammad, who was also an auto driver, to get rid of evil spirits. Apparently, Mustaqeem had told Salman that his wife and sister-in-law were being sexually abused by Mohammad.
Mustaqeem told Salman to behead Mohammad
Superintendent of Police Iraj Raja said, "Mustaqeem also told Salman to behead the rival occultist, saying it would cure his wife. Salman killed Mohammad while he was waiting for passengers at an auto stand." Mustaqeem was booked under the charges of murder and criminal conspiracy.
Mustaqeem was jealous of Mohammad's clientele
During interrogation, Mustaqeem said that he had asked Salman to kill his rival for his own benefit because his clientele was less than that of Mohammad. Earlier, police had recovered the sword and the clothes that Salman was wearing at the time of the incident. A black motorcycle used by the accused in the commission of the crime was also recovered.
