Delhi: NSIT shocks students, charges Rs. 10,000/subject for back-log exams
Students of Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology in Delhi have sought Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia's intervention, alleging the college authorities were charging enormous fees to allow them to register for back-log exams. In a letter written to Sisodia, the students have said that they are being asked to re-attend all the classes, even if they clash with their current semester classes.
Students allowed to clear back-logs in third year only
"We're not eligible for any internship if we have back-logs in first and second year, which we are allowed to clear in third year only," the letter read. Sisodia has forwarded the letter to D S Pandit, director of higher education, to take appropriate action.
Rs. 10,000 to be paid per subject for back-log papers
According to a notice issued by the college authority, third-year students of NSIT have been asked to pay a fee of Rs. 10,000 per subject to register themselves for back-log papers of odd semesters (I and III) under a new scheme of Choice-Based Credit System. Additional amounts of Rs. 800 as examination fee and Rs. 100 per semester marksheet is being charged.
