North Central Railway launches apps for passengers and employees
The North Central Railway (NCR) launched on Thursday two mobile apps, 'NCR RASTA' and 'Yatri RASTA', for its employees and passengers, respectively, for locating assets and stations. "NCR RASTA (Railway Assets Summarised Tracking Application) and Yatri RASTA (Railway Approach to Station Tracking Application) were launched on Thursday by NCR General Manager, Rajiv Chaudhry," Public Relations Officer of North Central Railway, Amit Malviya said.
NCR RASTA enables railway-staff to reach desired assets using Google-navigation
The 'NCR RASTA' app is for the use of railway officers and staff and has the exact mapping of all railway assets. "It will enable railway staff to reach the desired asset using Google Navigation in case of an emergency," Malviya said. Likewise, the 'Yatri RASTA' app will allow the general public to locate the railway stations easily, he added.
You can easily download 'Yatri RASTA' from Google Play Store
The other application for the passengers, 'Yatri RASTA', is already available for smartphones running on Android and can be downloaded free of cost from Google Play Store. Focusing on the need of technologies in Railways, General Manager Chaudhry said the NCR was committed to leveraging the latest technology for making the journey of railway passengers easier, pleasant and memorable.
Both applications will improve passenger service and asset maintenance: Chaudhry
"We are also committed to the use of cutting-edge technology in better maintenance of railway assets and for handling emergencies. Both these apps are aimed at helping us fulfill our twin objectives of passenger service and asset maintenance," Chaudhry said. The applications were developed by the IT Department of the NCR, which is headed by the Chief Manager (IT) Anshoo Pandey.
