Noida: 43 colleagues allegedly sexually-harassed engineer, sent obscene pictures
In a shocking incident, a female engineer working at an IT firm in Noida has alleged 43 of her colleagues sexually harassed her since November 2017. The victim, a resident of Ghaziabad, worked at the firm since 2016. A case has now been registered at Noida Sector 58 police station, reports India Today. Here's more about it.
Men sent images of their private parts, says victim
The woman, in her 20s, alleged that colleagues made sexual advances towards her. "I was asked to sleep with some of my colleagues," she said. She added that men sent her pictures of their private parts and posted objectionable things about her on a WhatsApp group. The complaint names 21 people. The rest 22 are unnamed as the woman didn't know their names.
Before arresting accused, police wish to verify allegations
Further, the woman claimed she contacted CMs Yogi Adityanath (Uttar Pradesh) and Arvind Kejriwal (Delhi) and also the woman commission. But no action was taken, she alleged. The police said they have filed the case but will verify allegations before making any arrests. "We are also collecting CCTV footage from the office as the alleged harassment took place inside the office," an official said.
