Noida: News anchor found dead; allegedly jumped off building
A news anchor has been found dead in Noida after she allegedly jumped from the fourth floor of her building. The incident took place in the Antriksh Forest society in Noida's Sector-77, in the wee hours of Friday. The deceased's co-anchor and friend was also present in the building, and has been taken into custody. Here's what we know about the incident.
The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Radhika Kaushik
The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Radhika Kaushik, who hailed from Rajasthan, and was working as a TV anchor for Zee Rajasthan. Early on Friday morning, a guard at the Antriksh Forest found her body in the parking lot of the society, and informed the police, who then rushed to the site of the alleged suicide.
What police found after preliminary investigations
According to police officers investigating Kaushik's death, her co-anchor Rahul Awasthi was also in her apartment when the alleged suicide took place. Police revealed that both Awasthi and Kaushik had been drinking that night, and an argument had taken place between the two. It's suspected that Kaushik took her own life after the argument. Awasthi was taken into custody for questioning.

However, Awasthi reportedly told police that Kaushik had received a call around 3.45am, which then turned into a heated argument. Awasthi claimed to be in the bathroom during the conversation, and came out after he heard 'someone falling'. He then discovered Kaushik's body in the parking lot. Meanwhile, police have confirmed that crucial information had been retrieved from Kaushik's phone. Investigations are on.
