CBSE to conduct Board exams in March, not February
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to hold its Class 10 and 12 exams in March, after Holi. It had earlier planned to conduct the exams in February to give teachers more time to evaluate mark-sheets and ensure quality checking. However, now it's reportedly trying to conduct the Board exams in shorter duration to ensure the examiners have the needed time.
CBSE wanted to give teachers more time to evaluate answer-sheets
CBSE, often under fire for reports of faulty evaluation, wanted to advance exam date to February to give teachers enough time and space for quality error-free checking. The Board exams usually last for 45-50 days and end ahead of summer vacation when most teachers go on leave. This forces the Board to get ad-hoc and contractual staff to evaluate mark-sheets, making room for errors.

As many as 3,502 centres and 10,678 schools have registered for the Class 12 exams.
