Nepali woman gangraped in Delhi
In another shocking incident of sexual assault, a Nepali mother of two was confined and gangraped by 5 BPO employees in a flat in Delhi's Pandav Nagar. The woman reportedly jumped from the first floor balcony of the apartment to escape, and sustained minor injuries as a result. Police arrested the 5 youths and registered cases against them under relevant IPC sections.
What happened?
The woman alleged that she was taken to an apartment on Saturday night by her friend Vikas, who she knew for a few months. He reportedly left the apartment early, after which five of his friends forced her to consume alcohol and took turns assaulting her. She was threatened not to leave the apartment, but managed to escape at 5:30AM, and alerted passersby.
Investigations ongoing, accused identified
The accused have been identified as Lakshay Bhalla, Vikas Kumar, Naveen and Prateek who work in call centres in Noida, and Swarit who works with Tech Mahindra. Police said investigations are ongoing as the woman kept changing her statement.
