NEET aspirant alleges invigilator kept staring at her, files complaint
A NEET aspirant from Kerala approached cops after an invigilator kept staring at her 'inappropriately' during the entrance exam. Shockingly, the girl was also asked to remove her bra, before entering the hall, as it had metal hooks capable of setting off the metal detector. The girl appeared for the exam at Lion's school at Koppam in Kerala's Palakkad district.
Girl couldn't concentrate on exam, her sister said
The aspirant's sister said the entire experience made her tensed and she wasn't able to concentrate. She attempted 'covering' herself with the question paper whenever the external observer stared at her breasts, instead of the face. Tarun Kumar, a CBSE official said they are awaiting complaint on this matter. "We are inquiring and a report is expected by next week," he said.
Police register complaint under relevant IPC sections
The case was registered under IPC Section 509 (eve teasing by word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman). Kerala police officers would also question other students in the hall to know more about the incident.
Remove bra, belt, shoes: NEET aspirants frisked before exam
CBSE asked NEET aspirants to follow a strict dress-code before sitting for the examination. Pictures from outside the centers showed students were asked to remove nose pins, belts, shoes, metal jewelry, and other items. Many were upset with CBSE's rules and said they were not treated with dignity. They even felt the board should conduct online exams to avoid such hardships.
