NTA to declare NEET results: Here's how to check yours
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will declare results for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2019 after 4 PM on Wednesday. Candidates can check their results by visiting ntaneet.nic.in. This year, 15 lakh students appeared for the medical examination which was held on May 5 and May 20. A step-by-step guide on how to check score
Students who wish to check their results can visit the website- ntaneet.nic.in. You are then supposed to click on the 'Download result' link. You will be asked to enter your registration number and roll number. Once you submit these mandatory details, your result will flash on the screen. You can take a print out of the result for future reference.
Passing NEET is necessary for getting admission in medical colleges
NEET is a three-hour-long examination conducted by NTA. Passing this exam is crucial for taking admission in government medical and dental colleges. The exam was divided into three sections namely Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Out of a total of 180 questions, 90 were from Biology and 45 each from Physics and Chemistry. Counseling is expected to begin in a couple of weeks.
Cut-off is expected to be higher than last year
This year the cut-off could be higher. Navin C Joshi, Academic Head at Gradeup, told IE the cut-off for general category is expected to be somewhere between 125 to 135. Students belonging to the general category will be considered for NEET 2019 if they score a minimum of 50%. This benchmark is 40% for students of reserved category and 45% for PwD candidates.
