83.75% students clear WB Class XII exams
83.75% students passed the Class XII examinations conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE). Results were announced today. Of the 804,895 candidates who sat for the examination, 663,516 students passed, the WBCHSE said. Students can check the results on the official websites: www.wbchse.nic.in or www.wbresults.nic.in. The examinations were held from March 27 to April 11.
Jalpaiguri boy secures 99.2%, bags first position
Among the toppers, Granthan Sengupta from Jalpaiguri Zilla School in Jalpaiguri district secured the top rank, scoring 496 marks out of 500 (99.2%). Ritvick Kumar Sahoo (493 out of 500) of Tamluk Hamilton School secured the second rank with 98.6% marks. Timir Baron Das and Saswata Roy jointly got the third spot securing 490 out of 500 marks.
Over 250,000 got first division
Among girls, Arkadipta Ghosh from Jadavpur Vidyapith and Anima Garai from Bankura Ranibandh jointly secured first spot scoring 97.2%, and ranked fifth overall. A total of 5,248 candidates received 'O' grade (90-100%) while 41,428 candidates got 'A+' (80-100%). An estimated 250,961 students secured first division.
