UP: Muslim businessman donates money for construction of 51 temples
Just when reports of communal tension lead us to believe the society has fallen far, some gestures show not all hope is lost. UP-based Rashid Naseem, Chairman of Shine Group reportedly announced he will donate money and land for construction of 51 temples, to preserve 'secular beliefs in the society'. These temples will be built in several locations in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Naseem says his decision reciprocates 'Ganga Jamuni Tehzeeb'
Naseem said this decision mirrors the 'Ganga Jamuni Tehzeeb of Awadh', that represents the fusion of Hindu and Muslim cultures. Further, he said, he is a Muslim but that hasn't stopped him from working towards the betterment of other religions. "It is an attempt to convey the message of brotherhood and peace to the society," he added.
First temple is ready, will be inaugurated in sawan: Naseem
The first temple on Allahabad-Varanasi highway is almost complete and will be inaugurated in sawan. Naseem said they hope to complete 21 temples' construction by this year. "We will get a total of 51 temples constructed by the end of next year," he added.
Naseem considers PM Modi as his inspiration
Naseem belongs to Allahabad and started his career as a realtor in 2013. He then expanded his business to travel, water purifiers, among others. The businessman adores Prime Minister Narendra Modi and considers him an inspiration. "When our PM can travel so much for us, why can't I? It's always good to travel for business, it's never a boring day for me," he said.
