Man wanted in 2014 murder-case caught by Himachal Pradesh Police
The Himachal Pradesh Police today claimed to have caught a man, who was a proclaimed offender in a murder case registered four years ago in Odisha. Upendra Kumar, from Panipat in Haryana, was initially arrested in connection with a case of illicit liquor registered against him under the Himachal Pradesh Excise Act, 2011 on July 17, Sirmaur Superintendent of Police, Rohit Malpani said.
Kumar admitted to committing crime during interrogation
The SP said during the interrogation, Kumar admitted to committing the crime four years ago. After providing information, the Odisha Police confirmed that an FIR was registered against Kumar under Sections 302 and 34 of the IPC on September 11, 2014. Malpani said a team of the Odisha Police would soon come to Paonta Sahib (south of Sirmaur district) to get Kumar's custody.
