Mumbai: Part of Andheri bridge collapses amid rains; traffic hit
Lakhs of commuters were stranded after a part of the Gokhale Road overbridge in Mumbai, connecting Andheri East and West stations, caved in this morning amid incessant rains. According to preliminary reports, one person was injured, while several are believed to be trapped under the debris. Rescue operations are underway. Both road and train traffic have been impacted.

The incident happened at 7:30am this morning, resulting in damage to the overhead wires, hitting train services on all lines, especially the Western. Due to the debris, traffic passing by the bridge either below or above it has been suspended. Teams of fire, police and medical departments were rushed to the spot. The dabbawalas have suspended their services for today due to the train disruption.

Mumbai lashed by rains since yesterday evening
Mumbai has been lashed by showers since 18 hours now. Several areas in the city are waterlogged, including Dombivali, Ghatkopar, Thane, Kurla, Dadar and Sion stations. Rainfall is expected to cross 90mm in some parts of the city today. Heavy downpour is likely in Mumbai and Thane today and tomorrow, with rains continuing till the weekend.
High tide warning issued for 3:10pm
The weather department has issued a high tide warning amid constant rains in Mumbai. High tide is expected to hit around 3:10pm today, Mumbai Mirror reported. People have been advised to stay away from the shores during that time.
