    What's the story

In a horrendous incident, a 19-year-old girl was raped by four men on her birthday in Mumbai, last month.

Though the assault happened on the intervening night of July 7 and 8, the victim didn't inform anyone about it, initially.

After her condition deteriorated, her family took her to the hospital, where the doctor revealed she was raped.

    Subsequently, a case was registered.

According to Indian Express, the girl lived with her brothers in Mumbai. On the night of July 7, she was returning home from her friend's place after celebrating her birthday when the four accused raped her.

She didn't inform anyone in the family about the crime.

However, on July 14, after she became sick, her brothers called their parents from Jalna.

The victim complained of pain in her private parts on July 24 after which she was admitted to Begumpura-based city hospital at Aurangabad.

Doctors suspected rape and informed the police.

On July 30, the victim confided in her father who approached Begumpura police and Zero FIR was registered.

However, since the crime happened in Mumbai, the case was transferred to Chunabhatti police.

Separately, reports claimed the victim's condition isn't good as she suffered multiple injuries.
