The Mumbai Police has reportedly arrested the 42-year-old accused, who has been sent to police custody until 13 April. He was booked under various sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. Here's more.
Police to conduct accused's medical examination
A Special POSCO Act Court has remanded the accused to police custody under IPC and POSCO Act until 13 April; cops reportedly sought his custody to conduct his medical exam. Meanwhile, his minor daughters have been shifted to a shelter home.
Accused threatens to kick victim out of the house
The 17-year-old victim had shared the siblings' ordeal with her mother on Sunday (8 April) following which her father threatened to stop funding her education and "throw her out of the house" if she resists. Her mother even confronted her father, but he also abused her along with the older survivor. After this incident, the victims registered an FIR against the fashion designer.
Older victim once saw her father abuse her sister
The accused designer had once abused his younger daughter, who is 13 now, in front of the 17-year-old victim, according to a Loksatta report. The older survivor was abused as well when she stood up for her sister.
Victim silenced with threats to kill her younger brother
In her complaint to the police, the 17-year-old stated that initially, when her father began abusing her, she had questioned him about the same, but he silenced her by threatening to kill her three-year-old brother. He also threatened to send the victims and their mother to hotels to work and "make money by engaging in sexual encounters" if she told anyone about it.
