MUDA case: Complainant alleges Siddaramaiah, others trying to destroy evidence
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is facing a new complaint lodged by Pradeep Kumar, who has accused him and others of tampering with evidence related to 14 land sites in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case. The complaint also implicates the CM's son, Yathindra Siddaramaiah. In his letter to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Kumar alleged that both father and son misused their public offices for personal gain during their respective tenures in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly.
Complaint details alleged misuse of public office
Kumar's letter to the ED detailed the timeline of Siddaramaiah's political career, highlighting his tenure as Leader of the Opposition Party and later as Chief Minister. He also noted Yathindra's representation of Varuna Constituency as a Member of the Legislative Assembly. "Siddaramaiah using his official position is tampering records and destroying evidence himself as well as by using officials of MUDA," Kumar claimed in his letter.
Activist presents MUDA case evidence to ED
Activist Snehamayi Krishna, a petitioner in the alleged MUDA scam, appeared before the ED in Bengaluru with documents related to his complaint. "There are thousands of crores of Rupees involved in the MUDA case. That's why I have asked for a thorough enquiry," Krishna said. Following these developments, Parvathi Siddaramaiah, wife of the Karnataka CM, offered to surrender the 14 plots allotted to her by MUDA after her husband was booked for money laundering in connection with this case.
MUDA initiates action, Lokayukta begins investigation
The Mysuru Lokayukta has officially initiated an inquiry and investigation into the case following a court order to file an FIR. The Lokayukta was directed to investigate allegations of illegalities in the allotment of 14 sites worth ₹56 crore to Siddaramaiah's wife, Parvathi, by MUDA. It is alleged that MUDA illegally allotted these sites in prime locations of Mysuru city.
